    Description

For your consideration is an original 1952 Marilyn Monroe cutout or standup from the movie "Don't Bother to Knock". This is an old piece from the 1950's and is not a reproduction.
"Don't Bother to Knock"; a 1952 American Film Noir thriller starring Richard Widmark and Marilyn Monroe and directed by Roy Ward Baker.
This cutout stands about 62" inches tall and is about 33" inches wide including the black sign. The image is on a thick cardboard like paper product that is about 1/4" thick. it does not show any signs of having been folded. The edges of the cutout looks like it had a glitter glued around the edges of the cut out, there are only a few places let where it can be seen.
There is some damage and listed here is some of the major examples:
There have been holes made in the piece (about 11 of them) over the years probably from trying to hang it up. Some of the these holes can be seen in the pictures in the following areas. There is a hole at the top of her head, at both her elbows, her feet, her neck and chest. There are also 4 holes going across the the black sign to her hip area. There are few more odd holes here and there also to add up to the 11 or so in her.
The edges of the cardboard show wear which includes some bending, some peeling, small tears, and dents.
Several of the corner edges have ben bent or curled some.
There looks to have been a break or tear across Marilyn's legs just below her knees. This was repaired and another piece of cardbord was glued to the back of the piece to keep it together. This was an old repair and was done pretty well.
Her foot has been bent over the years from having been stood on it (see pictures).
The image over all has little dusty or slight yellowing to it.
Please review the pictures carefully and ask questions you may have before purchasing or making an offer on the cutout.
Because Marilyn does not fold she will need to be shipped in a long flat box, so this effects shipping costs greatly.
I am willing to listen to offers and advice on pricing.
I have owned this piece for at least 20 years and I have not been able to find another one to get a good idea
of value (there are lots of reproductions), so I set my price based on what I would need to get for me to "break-up" with Marilyn.
All sales are final and "As-Is". No returns or refunds.
